Individual: I am available to work individually with your child. I see students for a variety of reasons including but not limited to:
- Crisis Intervention - usually a child is working through problems on a personal level. He/she may be dealing with a death, family adjustment issues, sibling conflicts, lack of needs, bullying, grades, etc...
- Study Skills - I can work with an individual student to set goals, become organized, communicate with the teacher or parent, learn test taking skills, etc...
- Sounding Board - Sometimes students just need to vent. I can confidentially listen to students share concerns, stress, achievements, etc. Seeing the counselor doesn't always imply that a problem occurs. Sometimes student like to share successes and I love to listen.
- Family Adjustment Group - Students in this group are usually adjusting to divorce, remarriage, separation, step siblings, etc.
- Study Skills Group - This group teaches students skills that help them succeed in the classroom.
- School Adjustment Group - Sometimes students have a difficult time adjusting when starting school for the first time, enjoying a long summer, or moving to a new school. In this group we work to help students make friends, communicate with parents and teachers, find the positives, etc...
- Leadership Group - Some children are natural born leaders, but need help to harness this gift. In the Leadership Group, students learn to be positive role models, peer mediators, and problem solvers. Students also learn ways to relate to their peers and other leaders in the school.
- Making Friends Group - This group is defined by its title. Students learn to make friends by being friends.
